My name is Sylvia . I am an Anglican Church member wo lives and worships in the Napak District of Karamoja, northern eastern Uganda. After hearing about To Help a Dream I approached them to start a business of solid soap making, moulded into bars.
I had a dream to begin this idea but I did not have any source of money. The startup required a lot but I confidently applied to the Charity for a grant and they approved. I am very glad for the boost I was given which has made a great difference in what I am doing today. My award made me think about setting up a serious upcoming soap factory in the area where I live.
Although I still only have a small market, I am happy that people are getting to know about me. I am now selling soap to schools, the community and retail shops. With determination, I believe in a few years I will be able to grow and reach that which I want to be.
To Help a Dream provided me with much needed assistance to start. They believed I could make a success of the business idea I set out.
